The Society's Annual Meeting is open to all interested in pharmacovigilance; members receive a discount on the registration fee.

From 1993-2000 ESOP (European Society of Pharmacovigilance) held eight meetings around Europe.
ISoP held its first meeting in Tunisia in 2001..

8th ISoP Annual Meeting Final Programme (pdf)

The 8th ISoP Annual Meeting took place in Buenos Aires , Argentina from 5-8 October 2008. It was attended by over 270 delegates from all over the world and included many stimulating presentations and discussions.
Raquel Herrera and Luis Alesso from the Argentinian Society of Pharmacovigilance were warmly congratulated on organising such a smooth-running and successful meeting.

Buenos Aires Poster Prizes

178 abstracts were accepted as posters and oral presentations, and as always, an ISoP Poster Prize was given to the three best posters. John McEwen was chair of the Posters Committee congratulated.

The winners who received a one-year subscription to one Adis journal of their choice were:

  • FIRST PRIZE: Cachin N; Kreft-Jais C ‘From an identified risk to regulatory measures: Implementation of HLA-B*5701 screening before Abacavir treatment' (P. 41)
  • SECOND PRIZE: Pariente A et al ‘Antipsychotic use and myocardial infarction in demented patients treated with cholinesterase uinhibitors' (P. 126)
  • THIRD PRIZE: Keller GA et al ‘ Pharmacovigilance Unit of the Second Chair of Pharmacology: Review and analysis of 700 notifications received' (P. 100)
